HealthInvestor Scotland
In April 2017 leaders from Scotland’s health and care community gathered for the inaugural HealthInvestor Scotland Conference, sponsored by Santander.
Chaired by social care consultant and former Scottish Care chief executive Ranald Mair, the half-day event explored the investment market in Scotland, from the challenges in working alongside local authorities, to balancing quality care with CapEx.
On 26 September 2018, the HealthInvestor Scotland will be returning as a full day event followed by a drinks reception, bringing greater focus on the operating environment and investment opportunities in Scottish health and social care.
With Scottish Care’s chief executive, Dr. Donald Macaskill recently citing a fiscal gap of £1 billion for social care in Scotland over the next three years, the market is facing considerable headwinds. However, with strong voices such as Macaskill’s calling for a funding model that reflects “the true cost of care for the decades to come” there is great desire to remodel care pathways and bring innovation into the sector.
The conference will analyse the ways in which this will drive reform in the market and understand what opportunities this will create for the investment, advisory, development, lending and operating communities.
